This App has become almost useless star star star_border star_border star_borderĪrthousebill's Review of Final Draft Mobile Reviewed on 5/4/18 1:42 AMĪfter two years of having this app, as a writer, Ive watched every successive update further destroy what was once a straightforward, easy to use App that simplified the professional screenwriting process turn into a bug infested, clunky, unreliable mess. I’m asking for my money back and sorry I even wasted two days putting material into this platform. It’s a greyed out button that just banners in and out whenever you try to purchase the in-app upgrade.

jessayin.)Īnd probably the stupidest glitch of all- you can’t buy the upgrade to edit scripts. Speaking of no syncing, you have to host a server session that resets your entire script layout to collaborate with other editors who ALSO have to have a version or trial of their own to work with you AND the iOS app doesn’t allow collaboration AT ALL. There’s no syncing in the iOS app with scripts in the OSX app, they just rely on people using Dropbox or iCloud to do all the lifting for them. The iOS app doesn’t recognize any folders in a Dropbox business account, only my personal folders, so the Dropbox integration is useless across teams that pay for that feature. Even with autosave on I lost almost 10 pages of work.

In the first 2 hours of writing, the software crashed 4x’s. I was drawn to how easy it looked to edit on the go and was looking for a replacement for Adobe Story now that it’s being phased out.

I recently purchased the full FD10 for OSX and this app. All in all, save your money and buy an app that does what it claims.

Update: I just finished 4 days of back and forth with Final Draft customer service, and after walking me through everything I already explained was happening, they are trying to blame Dropbox and telling me to use manual push to share my files on the app (this defeating any sort of syncing feature this app claims to have.) They also seem to have failed utterly in understanding the bug that keeps you from being able to upgrade the app in the first place. With so many other options out there, a company that has been around this long has no excuse not to be doing it better.

MadatFinalDraft's Review of Final Draft Mobile Reviewed on 7/19/18 2:59 PM Too many bugs, not competitive star star_border star_border star_border star_border So things could be a bit nicer, some functions could be added, and it could be more aesthetically appealing/convenient. Although, no other functions are necessary for this app to do its job, some things could really be improved. Yes this app is perfectly usable for writing scripts and offers a good amount of standard functionalities(for convenience) that free apps don’t offer. This app offers a basic, usable/practical, screenwriting interface. This app doesn’t have all the color modes or much of any customization. Im considering buying a more expensive or nicer software. Is it worth $10, eh I would say $8 is really being nice. Id consider this app standard, although I haven’t tried any truly-premium softwares. You could start and finish a proper screenplay on here as well as move between the desktop and app versions. However, given that tablet computers are increasingly becoming the norm, even for some professional work, features such as collaboration and alternate dialogue would be a great addition. There are some features missing from the app compared to the computer version, which I suppose is not unreasonable since this FD version is app based. That point leads me to one of the very few complaints, or rather notes, that I could make about this app. The integration with iCloud makes it easy to pause writing with mobile and pick up on the full desktop version. Automatic formatting keeps everything up to industry standards and exporting seems to be working flawlessly. As of now, Final Draft Mobile is rather exceptional. My last review pointed out a few problems that have since been fixed. MH2797's Review of Final Draft Mobile Reviewed on 9/16/18 2:09 PM
