If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. I did not like it so I went with Linux mint 18.3 but now I want to go back to windows 7 I have tried a few different things so far.Īttempt#1 I put the DVD in the slot restarted my computer pressed Esc to go to the boot options menu selected the DVD did not work booted into Linux any-ways the DVD will also not boot automatically.Īttempt#2 I tried to open the setup.exe file on the dvd using wine it seemed like this would work for a minute but when I pressed the install button I got an error message saying that there was no place to store the temporary files and to make sure the partion on my boot disk had at least 829MB of free disk space.Īttempt#3 I finally got fed up and created a bootable usb drive with DBAN on it to wipe the hard drive completely and start fresh I had the same issue as with the dvd was not able to boot from the usb in boot options menu. A little more info about my situation I started off with windows 7 originally (computer I bought came with windows pre installed) then I upgraded to windows 10. I have a windows reinstall DVD but I cant boot from the DVD in the boot options menu.
